Why claude motion design Excels at Explainer Animation

With claude motion design, every animation is written as code from your prompt, letting text, charts, shapes, and images move like a short video while remaining fully editable.

  • Code-Driven Animation Output
Each animation is an artifact generated from the Motion template and written as code that animates text, charts, shapes, and images — no video model, so no realistic people or footage.
  • Every Animation Saved as an Artifact
All your work is stored in the Artifacts tab, where Motion is just one template available when you start a new artifact.
  • Edit One Detail Without Reworking the Rest
Since the output is code, changing a single word, number, or timing cue leaves every other element untouched.

FAQ

claude motion design: Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers about claude motion design, including plan availability, editing, export options, and admin controls.

1

Which plans include claude motion design?

Claude Motion is in beta for Team and Enterprise plans. It is enabled by default on Team plans and disabled by default on Enterprise plans until an owner turns it on under Organization settings > Artifacts.

2

Can Claude Motion generate realistic footage or people?

No. It does not rely on a video generation model, so realistic footage and people are out of scope. What moves on screen is the text, charts, shapes, and images from your own material, written as code.

3

Where are my animations stored?

Every animation you create is saved in the Artifacts tab as an artifact built from the Motion template, alongside your other artifacts.

4

Does Motion count toward my plan limits?

Yes. Motion draws on your plan's usage allowance like other work in Claude, and a long or complex animation uses more than an ordinary message.

5

Can I export an animation as a video file?

Yes — click Export and choose MP4, and the animation downloads as a video file you can play or embed anywhere.

6

Who enables Motion for an organization, and can access be limited?

Owners and Primary Owners control it under Organization settings > Artifacts. On Enterprise plans, owners can also restrict Motion to specific groups with custom roles.
