How Claude Motions Turns Static Material Into Motion
Instead of shooting new footage, this beta artifact template works with the files you already have, assembling them into short clips that play like video.
- Rendered Inside Claude, Not a Separate EditorEach clip is an artifact made with the Motion template, so it sits beside your other artifacts in Claude rather than inside a standalone editing suite.
- Motion Graphics, Not Synthetic FootageNo video generation model sits behind it, so expect moving type, charts, shapes and stills drawn from your files — not photoreal people or filmed scenes.
- Your Work Waits in the Artifacts TabFinished pieces land in the Artifacts tab, ready to reopen, refine or hand off whenever someone asks for the latest version.
How Claude Motions Works: Three Simple Steps
From a short written brief to a shareable clip — here is the path Claude Motions takes.
What Claude Motions Puts in Your Hands
From briefing shortcuts to scene-level edits, these are the levers Claude Motions gives you when animating material of your own.
Brief With Audience, Screen and Runtime
Before anything renders, tell Claude Motions who is watching, which screen or room the clip will play in, and roughly how long it should run.
Attach Reports, Data and Images
Upload the slides, sheet or visuals you want on screen, so the result is built from your real material rather than filler.
Scene Fixes Through Conversation
Ask for a slower second scene or a corrected Q3 figure of 18%, and Claude Motions reworks just that portion of the animation.
Drag and Nudge in the Editor
Prefer direct control to describing changes? Open the editor and reposition elements of your Claude Motions animation by hand.
Small Edits, Everything Else Untouched
Because the output is code, changing one word, one figure or one timing cue leaves every other element exactly where it was.
Beta Access and Admin Controls
Claude Motions ships in beta for Team and Enterprise: on by default for Team, while Enterprise owners enable it under Organization settings > Artifacts and can scope it to chosen groups with custom roles.
Claude Motions: Common Questions
Straight answers on Claude Motions, its beta rollout, and how finished animations are exported and shared.
Which plans get Claude Motions?
It is in beta for Team and Enterprise plans. Team workspaces have it on from day one; on Enterprise, an owner must first enable it under Organization settings > Artifacts.
Will it generate realistic footage or people?
No. Nothing here runs on a video generation model, so you get animated explainers, charts and walkthroughs assembled from your content instead of lifelike humans.
Can I edit a single number without starting over?
Yes. The animation is code, so you can revise one word, one figure or one timing cue and every other element stays exactly as it was.
Where are my animations stored?
Every Claude Motions animation is kept in the Artifacts tab, filed beside the other artifacts in your workspace.
How do I download or share a clip?
Choose Export, then MP4, to save a copy. New Claude Motions animations are private by default; open one and hit Share to grant access.
Does it count against my plan limits?
It does. Claude Motions draws on your plan's usage allowance much like any other work, and longer or more involved animations consume more of it than a routine message.
Put Claude Motions to Work on Your Next Update
Open Claude and either pick the Motion template or describe the animation in chat. On Enterprise plans, an owner must switch Claude Motions on under Organization settings > Artifacts before the team can use it.
